New York-based songwriter, composer, and arranger Will Stratton has a new album out on Talitres (28 April 2014) titled Gray Lodge Wisdom. The title track which you can hear below features a guest verse from Will’s good friend Tamara Lindeman (aka The Weather Station).
Will had a tough time of it not too long ago when he was diagnosed with stage III testicular cancer. A great benefit compilation was released last year called If You Wait Long Enough: Songs Of Will Stratton, the proceeds from which went towards the medical bills from his treatment. Needless to say it’s great to see him back with a new album.
Another very worthy mention is that he recently opened for the legendary Gary Higgins…Yes, that Gary Higgins who released the 1973 psych-folk masterpiece Red Hash, a personal favourite…you can’t beat Down on the Farm
