We recently interviewed Lucy Ward about her new tour with The Lucy Ward Band (read it here) which includes Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow. Well now you can see them in action for yourself, here they are performing that Dexys Midnight Runners hit Come on Eileen
and Lucy’s own composition ‘Shellback’
First on board was childhood friend and long time collaborator bassist Sam Pegg. Sam, who has studied bass to masters level, played on both ‘Single Flame’ and also Lucy’s debut album ‘Adelphi Has To Fly’. To complete her rhythm section Lucy turned to drummer Steve MacLachlan. Steve regularly performs with The Willows and provided the drums on ‘Single Flame’.
The classically trained Joy Gravestock, who has recently been accompanying Lucy at many of her solo gigs, provides fiddle and occasional harmonies. Also providing harmonies and various instruments is Heidi Tidow, half of the highly respected folk duo O’Hooley and Tidow. Completing the band on keyboards is the other half of O’Hooley and Tidow, the excellent Belinda O’Hooley. Belinda, who started her career with Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, has recently been touring with the great Nic Jones and with Heidi has just released ‘The Hum’.
