Last year we interviewed Steve Folk (previously Steve Thompson AKA Blabbermouth) about life on the water…he lives on a 45 foot narrow-boat with his wife and they have no permanent mooring. They also have a narrow-boat studio on which Steve records music using just solar power, a regular couple of water gypsies (read the interview here).
Steve now performs regularly as a duo along with Jane South and they have a new EP out very soon for which we have an exclusive preview of the title track ‘Don’t Look Down‘:
Anyone that knows Steve fairly well will know he has a bit of a gift for making songs up on the spot often at a suggestion from the audience. So for the EP he ran a competition for subject matter to base the songs on. The winner provided him with this quote from her 21 Year Old daughter:
WHY LOOK DOWN WHEN YOU CAN LOOK UP AT THE SKY THAT LASTS FOR EVER.
That set the wheels in motion…
Steve and Jane are off on a tour of Italy in April (see poster below), hopefully he’ll be travelling by method of transport faster than his narrow-boat. It took him several weeks to reach Somerset. He also has a heap of UK gigs lined up including:
