Our Song of the Day is a vintage classic performance from the legendary duo Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick performing ‘Byker Hill’. There’s just no mistaking the unique guitar styling of Carthy or the fiddle playing of Swarbrick, there’s never been a finer English folk duo in my opinion.

Martin and his daughter Eliza will be releasing a new album ‘The Moral of the Elephant’ on 2 June via Topic Records. The album takes it’s name from the children’s poem The Blindmen and the Elephant by John Godfrey Saxe. There will also be a special Record Store Day 7″ titled ‘Happiness’, a song written by Molly Drake, mother of Nick Drake. More soon.
