The Lowest Pair are a singing banjo/guitar playing duo made up of Kendl Winter of Arkansas and Palmer T. Lee of Minnesota.
Whilst their music is old-time roots influenced they bring an originality to their music through a gauze of modern influences which includes punk roots. Both artists also perform solo but together they batch up a warm charm that’s impossible to resist.
Kendl has a wonderful voice that’s been described as being somewhere between Gillian Welch and Iris DeMent whilst Palmer’s vocal range registers close to that of Townes Van Zandt….ideal! Check this live video session recorded by Chuck Johnson in Humboldt County, California. The song ‘Magpies at Sunset’ is from their album 36¢ and is our Song of the Day.
