The Cambridge based Five-piece band The Coach House Company are set to make a bigger wave this year with the launch of their new EP at Cecil Sharp House on Saturday 5 April (8:00pm – 10:00pm).
Whilst clearly heavily influenced by the folk music heritage of the British Isles they take traditional reels, jigs and songs as well as their own compositions and create an altogether more modern upbeat twist. As well as the more familiar folk band instruments such as guitar, violin and mandolin they also feature trumpet, cello and double bass…the results are refreshing and uplifting as they weave in touches of classical and jazz to their compositions.
