Barry Kerr who hails from county Armagh is one of Ireland’s best songwriters, traditional musicians and artists. As I said before, and I stand by those words still:
In all these skills there is a core connection…an uncanny ability to connect through music and art to the people and the land he knows best. His artwork captures expression and feeling that go beyond words and the same can be said of his music.
The last time I wrote about Barry was when he released his single The Leaving Song at the beginning of last year, it is a brilliant song but we should really be hearing a lot more from this talented man. Despite many of his songs being covered by other Irish artists he has yet to release an album…until now that is.

Music is his livelihood and getting an album out there will help Barry to continue his work and allow him to also tour his own material.
He has recruited the help of some of Ireland’s finest musicians to accompany him on the project, including Pauline Scanlon (Lumiere), Donogh Henessy (Lumiere, Lunasa etc), Donal O Connor (At first light, La Lugh), and Eamon Murray (Beoga). As always there are some great rewards for helping to fund the project including signed CDs and artwork.
Here’s a reminder of why we think he’s so deserving of this support:
