Last year we gave a brief introduction to Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter Vikesh Kapoor with a live video of I Dreamt Blues from his debut album ‘The Ballad Of Willy Robbins’. Well the good news is that he has signed to Loose Music for the UK release of his debut and he’ll be joining fellow label-mates The Handsome Family on tour in the UK in May. Here he is with Bottom Of The Ladder…
The Handsome Family are currently enjoying some great additional fame with their song, Far From Any Road, which was selected by T Bone Burnett to soundtrack the opening credits to HBO’s big hit new drama series True Detective. The growing international attention received by the show has resulted in husband and wife duo, Brett & Rennie Sparks, gathering legions of new fans and opening up their music to an increasingly wider audience. (The second episode of True Detective airs in the UK on Saturday 1st March on Sky Living.)
Vikesh Kapoor’s ‘The Ballad Of Willy Robbins’ is released via Loose Music on 14th April and he has been confirmed as support for The Handsome Family on the UK & Ireland leg of their European tour in May, dates below:
