Maz O’Connor has revealed another new track from her forthcoming album called The Mississippi Woman. The song was commissioned by Broadstairs Folk Week to celebrate women’s history. “It’s an alternative creation myth, sort of a reversed Adam and Eve, starting from the creation of the woman” she explained.
The more I hear from her forthcoming album This Willowed Light the more I like. This track has a late 60’s folk revival feel helped by what sounds like a hammond organ and there’s maybe even a hint of Joni Mitchell in there.
This Willowed Light is due for release on June 20th. Here’s the tracklisting and the image below will be used for the album artwork which was designed by the talented Elly Lucas.
