For those not familiar with Ronán Ó Snodaigh he’s a great musician and poet from Dublin who plays in the band Kíla. Kíla have been forging their own progressive form of music for years which combines Irish traditional music with a fusion of sounds from around the world. In this new short film by Myles O’Reilly Ronán joins Thomas Doran The Street Singer as they set out on horse and cart one November morning somewhere in the thick of Kildare. Thomas shares some of his songs along their slower paced road journey including the well known Barbara Allen.
Rónán’s latest solo album SOS is being released on friday 22nd November. Copies can be pre-ordered here. It is a collection of eight new songs in Irish. The band consists of Pete ‘Pamf’ Roudolo on guitar, Nick Seymour on bass, Stephen Mogerly on double bass, Conor Murray on drums and Liam Ó Maonlai on keyboard. They are called The Occasionals!
