This quirky lo-fi track called Pet Carrot has been growing on me to the point it feels like an old loved coat. The dreamy opening is as catchy as hell and the brewing storm beneath the surface gives it enough edge and attitude to love it all the more.
Palehound is the project of singer/ songwriter Ellen Kempner who hails from Yonkers, NY and Pet Carrott is the first single to be taken from her debut EP Bent Nail which is out now on Exploding In Sound Records on limited edition cassette and digital. When asked about the EP she said:
“this collection of songs definitely exhibits my uncomfortable shift from teenage-hood to “adulthood” and the fact that regardless of what I felt like I should be as an adult, I still felt the same as I did when I was fifteen.”
