The Melodic have unveiled their latest video for “Ode To Victor Jara” from their forthcoming album ‘Effra Parade,’ which is released Anti- on November 5th (February 3rd for UK fans). The London based afro-folk-pop declare they are the first young English group to lionize Chilean neo-folk rebel Victor Jara since Sandinista-era Clash…
Having just supported Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion on a 12 date East Coast tour of the US the band were left with a burning desire to do more so they’ve started a PledgeMusic campaign to help them along the way:
As some of you know, we have been hiding away in the studio in the UK for the last 3 years… A studio that Rudi built for us in his childhood bedroom while he squatted down the road. We’ve been looking forward to getting that music out to you and playing it live to you.
Making the album was a big community process, involving friends and family and we would like this next stage to be like that too. We are offering exclusive merchandise and interactive experiences that you can choose to get your hands on that will, in turn, support our journey and enable us to hopefully to come play a town near you….
By supporting us and tapping into what we do, you will also be helping raise money for the ABC Trust. A charity very dear to us that builds film and music studios in the Favela slums of Brazil, so that young kids can choose culture as a way out of crime and drugs.
