Breabach’s new album title Ùrlar translates as ground or floor and was chosen to emphasise the sense of foundation they wanted to achieve with this release. Whilst they have one foot firmly planted in the tradition they also bring their own fresh interpretations. To help them along the way (the other reason apparently being for his “cracking ears”) they enlisted the production skills of Kris Drever, an artist that both inspires them and shares a similar vision with his own music.
Ùrlar is by far their best and one of their most diverse releases to date.

The album was launched recently at Riccardo’s Italian kitchen (a tune is dedicated to this fine establishment on the album!) in Glasgow. “Fine tunes, pizza and a few glasses (bottles) of wine with our pals. What a great night!”
