A Grave With No Name has made his new album Poltergeist available as a free download for today. Alexander Shields’ project, which recently completed a trilogy of albums with the release Whirlpool in July, moves in a new direction on Poltergeist, a 30-minute instrumental album, and musical journey, made up of 13 songs dictated by drum machine, guitar and samples that consciously skips through genres, from the nod to early Royal Trux on ‘Horses Hexx’ to ambient piano drone inspired by William Basisnki’s shortwave radio pieces. Written and recorded by Alex at his home between January and April 2013 using only hardware it is both a love-letter to culture and exploration into the idea of self-liberation, making for a beautiful and captivating listen.
