Our Song of the Day is also an Exclusive song Premiere of ‘Magic In The Panic‘, taken from Devon Sproule & Mike O’Neill’s new album Colours which is out on the 23rd September via Tin Angel. Devon Sproule had this to say about the track:
Magic in the Panic is probably my favourite vocal collaboration on the record. It sort’ve changes key a few times, so it doesn’t end up being awkward for either Mike or I to sing. And I like the way the lyrics pass off to each other. The imagery at the beginning is from my grandma’s cottage at Lac Tremblant, in Quebec. The last couple stanzas were inspired by The Tin Drum, which I read when I was living in Berlin. I think it made me feel like I should have taken more away from my radical-ish upbringing. Y’know, like I should be doing more to change the world, etc, etc. That’s what the last few verses are about. My husband Paul wrote the high vocal line on the end of the song, which I really love.
