Water Voices is the second single from Brooklyn based folk quintet Whale Belly taken from their forthcoming album I Was Once A Bird which will be released on October 8th, 2013.
Water Voices is such a refreshing track to hear, it builds like a slow rising tide with the added percussion and group choruses giving it that extra lift. It’s a damn fine song which sounds like they got there without much effort, something I’m inclined to believe having heard the album…they have a great intuition as a band that doesn’t need over complicated hooks to make their music standout, it isn’t jumping on the monotone bandwagon so many bands seem to end up on these days…Whale Belly glitter with colour and light!
