Brothers Robin and Joe Bennett (ex-members of Goldrush and Danny & the Champions) are better known to the world these days as ‘The Dreaming Spires‘. They released their debut album ‘Brother in Brooklyn’ in June of last year on Clubhouse Records which picked up airplay around the world and on BBC Radio. To celebrate their summer festival appearances as well as recording a session for Bob Harris they are releasing a new double A-side digital single on 15th July. Side A is a special edit of the title track from the band’s acclaimed debut LP for which they’ve released a video for:
The flip is a new track, Friend You’re On Your Own, recorded as part of the album sessions. The song is propelled by rootsy guitar and percussion and boasts another huge chorus about the power of music, tying it thematically to Brothers in Brooklyn: “friend, I suppose that the songs we sing will mean everything in the end”.
