The Islanders is a lo-fi musical about memory, first-loves and growing up. In the late nineties, teenage couple Amy Mason and Eddie Argos (now lead singer of Art Brut) fled their bedsit haven of damp walls, smashed furniture and only-orange foods for a holiday on the Isle Of Wight. It was to become a holiday that both cemented and tested their relationship.
Thirteen years on, through story and song, they try to make sense of an island, a holiday and a relationship that have become absurd in the retelling.
Written and performed by Amy Mason it also features songs from Eddie Argos (Art Brut) and Jim Moray (multi award-winning folk singer).
The show has won the Ideastap.com Edinburgh Award 2013 and will be performed at Edinburgh Fringe through August. Details and tickets here.

Sweet England 10th Anniversary
In other news the tenth anniversary of Jim’s 2003 debut album Sweet England will be marked by the release of a special 10th Anniversary Edition which has been remastered with added live tracks and remixes on CD in a digipack with a 3D lenticular cover. Made in his student bedroom and produced, engineered and played almost entirely by Moray himself, the album sounded unlike anything else in folk music at the time. Order via bandcamp
The release will also be marked by a special 10th Anniversary Party at The Union Chapel, London on November the 9th 2013, featuring Sweet England played in full with The Doret Ensemble plus a second half featuring friends and very special guests. Tickets and details
