Folk Radio UK is attending a number of festivals this year including Fairport Convention’s Cropredy (to be attended by Johnny Whalley currently at Tiree Music Festival). Cropredy is one of those festivals that once you’ve been you’re hooked. As I discovered when I last went to Cropredy it’s just as much about the festival experience and camaraderie amongst the festival goers as it is about the music. The festival is a very warm and friendly one helped by it all taking place around one stage where you’re more likely to meet up again with old faces and friends you’ve met in previous years. For many it’s a festival for life as witnessed by the many vintage Cropredy t-shirts that get their yearly outing. So, not surprisingly, it comes highly up our list of recommended festivals.
