Cambridge Folk Festival have released the line-up for this year’s Den Stage which is aimed at highlighting new and emerging talent, there are some good choices in there and it goes without saying that those artists will benefit from the wider exposure. There are also some well known artists…if you are a regular listener to Folk Radio UK…and it’s great to see the likes of Woodpecker Wooliams / Cocos Lovers / Rachael Dadd & Ichi finally getting some wider credit from the such an exposed large folk music festival.
Maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part but there does appear to be a creeping tide of change this year amongst some of the larger folk festivals who in the past have tended to opt for the more popular artists to secure ticket sales, some of those line-ups were beginning to look moth-eaten from over-exposure…
The Den Stage line-up is like this:
Thursday 25 July
Marika Hackman, Ellie Rusbridge, Matt Tighe & Tad Sargent, Cara Winter
Friday 26th July
