Scotlands ever popular The Paul McKenna Band announced earlier this month that their new album ‘Elements‘ is to be released on June 1st. They will be having an album launch on June 11th at Folklub in Stereo, Glasgow. From what we’ve heard the band are sounding greater than ever, Scotlands folk and traditional music is in great hands and they’re riding a great wave right now as you can hear on these couple of track tasters which we’ve included to whet your appetite:
Lonely Man
Cold Missouri Waters
To get the album off the ground the band turned to fans using sponsume.com to raise funds to create their own studio and record the album themselves. Funds also went towards getting the album mixed and mastered as well as having the album art work designed. Also, as they explained “having a studio of our own will mean we will have more time to record and a space to rehearse which will be a huge benefit to the band and will help with our continued development.”
Well they succeeded which makes this release a bit of a landmark in their career.
