The Dunwells are a tight knit group comprising two brothers Joseph and David Dunwell, two cousins, Rob Clayton and Johnny Lamb and a best mate in Dave Hanson. Individually and collectively the group has grown up hardwired to the Leeds music scene, eventually uniting their considerable talents to create the perfect musical storm.
Blessed with multiple writers and with both Dunwell brothers and drummer Johnny Lamb able to take lead vocals, this is a band brimful of talent. Catchy, hook and harmony laden songs, blend Americana and classic singer-songwriter flavours into a rootsy sound, that has already impressed both critics and audiences here and in the US in particular, where their career has already taken off at pace.
They take modest delight in the contrariness of their American success coming first, but as their debut album Follow the Road is finally on the horizons in the UK, the Dunwells have a new mix of Follow The Road, taken from it and released as a single, with a gig at London’s The Islington on 11th of April as a launch party.
From then the band will be criss-crossing the Atlantic right into the summer with US and Canadian tours and UK dates to enjoy in May. The band are also lined up for a Cropredy festival appearance, another obvious highlight of what promises to be a very busy year indeed.
