You can either regard it as a sign of terrific confidence, or the polar opposite to give away the first lines of your song to your guest vocalist. Yet by the end of this duet you are in no doubt whose achingly tender and poignant ballad this is. The Fraying is the first track to be plucked from the forthcoming album Through the Noise, by Megan Wyler, on Nowever Records to be released in June.
It’s another of those vocal partnerships that’s possibly forged in the summer mists of dawn, or facing into the wide horizons of starlit skies. In such places the significance of what we are is as important as the visible breath exhaled from our lungs and as insignificant as a dew drop crushed underfoot.

OK! You can see what’s happening here, yet the play button keeps getting hit and with each new run through, a nuance is revealed. It’s important not to wear it out, but it’s all we have for now.
Lyrically this is bruised, yet comes with the explanation that these are extrapolations on a mood rather than the, oh so tempting to believe, autobiography. Still lines like “Feeling threadbare and defeated, watch for the fraying at my edges,” will surely resonate with anything but the hardest heart and as tasters go this is exceptional, making the imminent delivery of Through The Noise keenly anticipated. Check back for more to come on this soon.
