Bella Hardy has released her new single ‘Three Pieces Of My Heart‘, our first glimpse of her forthcoming new studio album ‘Battleplan‘ due for release on 22nd April. ‘Three Pieces of My Heart’ opens to some very earthy jazzy undertones helped by James Lindsay‘s double bass before lifting into a rootsy mid-tempo with catchy two part chorus aided by Anna Massie. Anna takes hold of the throttle on ‘Whisky You’re The Devil’ with her trademark driving acoustic guitar which, accompanied by Mattie Foulds contemporary piano jazz lines, gives it that sense of urgency and unstoppable drive that fits the song mood so well.
Mattie Foulds’ production is very apparent with his clever use of intricate arrangements, if these are the mould for her new album then we are in for a treat…her most musically expansive and lyrically personal album to date? It’s certainly looking that way!
You can download Three Pieces Of My Heart for free if you pre-order the album on bandcamp. For the album Bella is trying out their minimum price methods, so from £8 up (or £6 digital only).
