Six-piece folk-rock band Galley Beggar have announced that they will be sharing the stage with fellow Psych-folk rockers Circulus next month at Amersham Arms in New Cross, London. It promises to be a very popular night as both bands have experienced a surge of new followers thanks to the new wave of interest in folk rock music. The last time they shared a stage was back in 2010 at Cecil Sharp House.
Galley Beggar released their self-titled album late last year (read our review) which sees them continuing to go from strength to strength. Whilst Circulus who released their first EP in 1999 have continued to build a loyal following…author and journalist Tom Cox said this of Circulus:
Circulus, who are undoubtedly the best psychedelic neo-medieval folk rock band in Britain, have been breaking my heart now for seven years, and could not, by any stretch of the imagination, be described as ‘normal’
