The Milk Carton Kids are an L.A. folk music duo who consist of Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan. They release their highly anticpated album The Ash & Clay on March 26th. The band have had nothing short of a fantastic build-up in the US supporting the likes of Old Crow Medicine Show, the Lumineers, Punch Brothers and KD Lang as well as appearing on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series.
Their sound has that bittersweet touch that you can’t help but like, it has a sincerity that comes straight from the US classic folk revival era. You can watch the video for their new album’s title track below which will ring bells with any Simon & Garfunkle fans whilst. Other influences abound from the likes of Bert Jansch and the Everly Brothers to the songwriting of Harry Nilsson and Richard Thompson.
