If anyone mentioned ‘Streets of Laredo‘ to me I’d normally think immediately of that cowboy ballad made famous by Marty Robbins / Johnny Cash…but not any more! Not since I discovered an indie folk outfit going by the same name who hail from New Zealand and are currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
They contacted us tonight, this is so hot of the press it shows how excited we are!
After hearing their first single and watching their offical new video for ‘Girfriend‘ (see below) we were on the edge of our seat wanting to share this new discovery with you all. They stand so far apart from a lot of what we hear, they are going places! This is so fresh and miles ahead of the game!

Streets of Laredo are a family affair, they are newest musical incarnation of Daniel, David & Sarah Gibson plus award winning photographer Si Moore of Bayly & Moore. Described as a “ram shackled family circus of gypsies & ragamuffins” Streets of Laredo truly embrace the spontaneity of live performance. Breaking down “the invisible wall” between the band & audience, Streets of Laredo like to create a “happening” rather than a standard “gig”. Although at its core Streets of Laredo are a quartet, you never quite know what you’ll get at a Streets show. Surprise guest performers are a common occurrence with the crowd being an active participant and contributor to the experience.
We really belive they are something special so go and spread the word, share with you friends!
