Literature Thieves are a Manchester based female trio made up of Angela Hazeldine, Amy Clarkson and Cassie Elwood. They deliver quirky folk pop filled melodies, three part harmonies…all done with a stylish off-kilter attitude, think Sea of Bees / Tasseomancy.
They have just signed to Red Deer Club through whom they will be releasing a brand new single and EP. ‘Waves That Weave‘ will be released as a free download on 15th Decemeber followed by their five track EP ‘Moon Stories From The Glass Mountain‘ released on 28th January 2013.
I’ve been listening to the EP this morning which is under wraps for now but it is beautifully stripped down featuring mandolin, ukulele, guitar and percussion…it’s addictive and very catchy! From the foot-stompin ‘Waves That Weave’ to the subtle doo-wop influenced ‘They Say’ they offer a lovely alternative folk sound. Here’s a small taster:
