Whilst some of the world panic about the Mayan Apocalypse and end of the world on Friday 21 December, Giant Giant Sand offer a seasonal counterbalance with a free track “Not the End of the World” taken from the deluxe version of their epic album Tucson. The deluxe version is available digitally and features different versions of eight of the album tracks such as “Undiscovered Country” and “Lost Love”, remixed and remastered from the mixing desk of John Parish.
With its loungey, Rat Pack vibe “Not the End of the World” is actually rather festive. With vocals shared between frontman Howe Gelb and Lonna Kelley, it’s the perfect way to dodge, shelter or survive through the Mayan Apocalypse and prepare for the holiday season.
The deluxe version of Tuscon is released on Fire Records.
