London based indie-pop quartet Arthur Beatrice are busy putting the finishing touches to their LP which is due for relase in 2013, the pressure is on as they’ve had to cancel their Paris show Les Inrocks to meet deadlines. Until recenty it was assumed that the band took their name from the Golden Girl actress but according to a recent interview with ‘Under the Radar’ Magazine it is simply a play on ‘A & B’…the two sides to their music that they perceive: pop and aternative? You won’t find a lot about them on their website, we know they are all young (21 and under) and made up of Orlando Sheppard (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, organ), Ella Girardot (lead vocals, keyboards, organ), Elliot Barnes (drums, backing vocals), Hamish Barnes (bass, backing vocals).
The release of their single Midland left followers and newcomers wanting more, their music has been compared to that of Wild Beasts, Warpaint and The xx…whatever the comparison, their few singles released to date are paving the way for a debut that will be receiving a lot of attention.
