We are very excited to announce that Deezer, one of the world’s premier music streaming services, has formed a partnership with Folk Radio UK.
The partnership will feature a new Folk Radio UK Deezer Radio channel which we will curate by utilising Deezer’s very impressive music catalogue (18 Million tracks) to programme an extensive folk music playlist.
Deezer is now also the official review partner of Folk Radio UK, allowing readers to listen to reviewed albums and singles on the Folk Radio UK website in one click via embedded Deezer players. Reviews written by Folk Radio UK’s editorial team will also be available on Deezer.com, providing Deezer users with even more content about their favourite folk releases.
Mark Foster, MD of Deezer UK and Ireland said:
“Folk is an important genre for Deezer and is one of the most popular channels in our vast catalogue. We wanted a partner at the top of their game who could help our users explore our heritage folk catalogue as well as recommend the best discovery artists. Folk Radio UK are amazing at what they do, it’s a great fit.”
This partnership is a very big step for Folk Radio UK exposing what we do to a huge new audience. Deezer is currently used by 23 million people in 91 territories. Their service does not rely on software downloads and is available on PC/Mac, all smartphones and many connected devices (they are also one of the Orange Swapables). In September 2011 Deezer announced a partnership with Facebook which has also allowed them to integrate their services into the world’s largest social network.
