BBC Young Folk Award finalist David Gibb has released a new single ‘Prince John’. As well as the upbeat driving title track which features a some nice brass with a definite early Memphis soul sound. The other two tracks ‘First Day of School’ (featuring the multi-talented Elly Lucas) and ‘Cold Day’ have a completely different feel…a lot more earthy with David’s storytelling leanings coming to the fore complimented by a patchwork of nice bright quirky sounds and rhythms complimenting his stories of childhood fears and the winter weather.
