I have literally just come across Apple of My Eye, a 7-piece London based band, so this is probably the fastest introduction I’ve ever done but I’m sure you’ll understand why when you watch the clips below. I was intending to wait until their debut album ‘Devils’ is out (this winter on Pear O’ Legs records) but I can’t keep quiet that long! Beautiful music, harmonies and songs!
Apple of my Eye write and sing brand new old songs. The stories they sing of are full of love and loss, curses and damnations, adventure and ruin. What binds these tales together are the rich and original vocal harmonies, both a capella and over the intricate melody lines of the bazouki, mandolin and violin supported by the texture of the guitar, harmonica and double bass.
We’re looking forward to playing their debut album!
The band are:
Arran Glass (guitar and vocals), Ellie Rusbridge (vocals), Kit Massey (violin and vocals), Chris Rusbridge (bazouki and vocals), Alex Scott (mandolin and vocals), Phil Cornwell (double bass and vocals) and Dan Rusbridge (harmonica and vocals).
