Fresh back from Bestival where the Monster Ceilidh Band put on a great set on the Polka Club Stage they have some time now to recharge their batteries before heading back out to destroy some more dance floors in October with their own brand of fusion: traditional British folk and Drum ‘n’ Bass. They will also be taking in London’s Remix festival in November and heading down our way in February (13th) for Frome Folk Festival.
This year saw them play Purbeck Folk Festival (get your tickets now for 2013) where we watched them put on a fantastic set and they also played Wilderness Festival on the London Folk Guild stage, you can watch them in action below:
The Monster Ceilidh Band are accordion maestro Amy Thatcher (Kathryn Tickell Band, The Shee), Scottish Borders fiddler Carly Blain (Border Fiddles), Kieran Szifris on mandocello and the dub-heavy electric bass of David de la Haye (Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies).
