Karan Casey has announced a new album which she is looking towards fans to help fund the launch of through Kickstarter. The album will see a departure from her more tradtional repertoire as she leads a more personal path, writing all the songs and music herself which refelcts upon her last couple of years. She states “they are songs of love and healing from the inner workings of my mind. In many ways they are a huge step in trusting my own story enough to confide in you the listener. Basically they mean a lot to me.”
What we do know about the album is that electric guitar will feature courtesy of Eoghan Reagan along with Graham Henderson on piano. Karan has also called upon some special guests to sing songs with her including her father Karl Casey and Mick Flannery. Armagh’s famous concertina player Niall Vallely will make a guest appearance on the album, not his first involvement having produced and composed the tunes on her children’s album “The Seal Maiden”. Other guests will also be announced.
The album will be releasesd through Karan’s own label Crow Valley Music and the funds raised will help pay for rehearsals, recording, production, mixing, manufacturing and publicising the work.
