The first time I saw The Staves they were supporting Joshua Radin in Bristol in 2010, they put on an unforgettable performance and have remained a Folk Radio UK favourite since. Shortly after that we featured an Interview with them during which they spoke about what life was like for three sisters touring and performing together. That all seems like a long long time ago now, since then they have been doing lots of gigs and getting lots of extra exposure through further support slots including their recent UK and European arena tour in support of Bon Iver, it doesn’t get much better!
It feels like they’ve worked their socks off and earned enough exposure now to go it alone so it’s great news that sisters Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor have announced details of a UK & Ireland headline tour for later this year. The tour will follow the release of their long awaited debut album, ‘Dead & Born & Grown’ through Atlantic Records on October 22nd 2012. They sound incredible live so don’t miss them, just check out their live session at Cecil Sharpe House below.
The tour commences at Bristol’s Thekla on the 18th November, and concludes at Bodega in Nottingham on the 29th November. The tour includes a headline performance at London’s Village Underground on the 19th November. The Staves will be supported by 24-year old South-London native and hotly-tipped songsmith Luke Sital-Singh who you can also listen to nd download below:
