An upcoming film NEVADA featuring some of Lau’s new album: Race The Loser is to be screened as part of the band’s Kings Place mini festival weekend “Welcome To Lau-Land”:

Words From the Creators of NEVADA:
Lau’s brief was simple; select what we want from their new album, and make anything we want to accompany it visually, for approximately 20 minutes.
Our response; NEVADA – a short experimental film about hate, which will poetically interpret the demise of Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller’s marriage, in a visceral triptych.
We envisage this project culminating in a cross-platform experimental work. In the first instance, our film will be screened to an audience while LAU performs. We will also edit and mix an independent version of the music and audio for festival submission and screenings, while there is also scope for installation presentations. We also intend to document the ‘making of’ and premiere screening of the project.
Taking inspiration from the enriching process of making previous experimental commission, BAROQUE (Fesitval Delle Lettere)- Dave and I will create a beautiful mood piece with a narrative backbone, powerful themes and strong central characters, finding it’s home in a format located somewhere between that of a music video and short film. I want to write a story in three acts, then present these out of order, bringing a different weight to each and challenging an audience’s perspective. The film will be an engrossing, expressionistic piece, which ought to take an audience’s attention hostage.
