This year Priddy Folk Festival celebrates its 21st year, a far cry from those early days from what started as a fund raiser in the village hall. Whilst the festival has grown it has maintained one of the warmest and friendliest festival atmospheres we’ve experienced. We’ll be at Priddy again this year when they will be celebrating in style!
The festival launches on the Friday 6th July with some of our favourites, including: Spiers & Boden, Spiro, Belshazzar’s Feast, Jackie Oates Band and James Findlay Alex Cummings & Beth Orrell. The Saturday includes some heavyweight performances from John McCusker, John Doyle & Mike McGoldrick, Urban Folk Quartet, Rory McLeod & the Familiar Strangers, Colum Sands, The Young ‘Uns, Brook Williams, Walsh & Pound and Three Cane Whale. The final day will feature Jamie Smith’s Mabon, Heidi Talbot, John McCusker & Boo Hewerdine as well as Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin (see the full line-up here).
Alongside the well known names are a host of new bands some of which you may not be familar with. Priddy never fails to surprise and this year will be no exception. The festival is very family friendly with plenty of activities and entertainment to entertain both the young and older kids! (The ale is excellent as well!)
We’ll be bringing you more news about the festival soon!
Below you can find a few clips of just a small handful of those performing.
