Seas of Mirth are not your typical sea shanty inspired band. Their members hail from Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Birmingham and they put on a high powered performance that has been likened to “the Pogues getting Mumford and Sons in a headlock, whilst Flogging Molly steals their lunch money and Grandmaster Flash kicks them in the shins”.
The band have been going since 2007 and have played up and down the country from pub to stage from Edinburgh Fringe to London’s SE1 Club where they’re known for starting many a tug of war with the locals! Their combination of gypsy and punk laced folk will go down a storm at any festival.
They have just released Double-A side single: ‘Phantom Vessel/Ly Ly Ladyboy’ and a full length album will be out this Summer.
