Jozef Van Wissem has turned the traditional perception of the Lute on its head…where others would rather have this instrument treated as a museum piece and claimed by specialists, he has challenged that perception and brought it alive. It’s a journey that’s taken him on an enlightening and surprisingly spiritual path that’s lead him to collaborate with Maurizio Bianchi, wonder fingers James Blackshaw and most recently Under & Over-Ground film maker and musician Jim Jarmusch.
