The ever popular Scottish folk singer Karine Polwart has unveiled a new track from her forthcoming album due for release this summer. The track titled ‘The King of Birds’ was inspired by the protests at St Paul’s Cathedral. She dedicated the song to the Occupy London activists, thinkers and hopers:
The tiny wren (like Christopher) is The King of Birds in mythology. All luck to you in finding new ways to ring the bell. This is a demo recording ahead of an album in Summer 2012.

In October last year Karine released her DVD: Here’s Where Tomorrow Starts in which she revisited some previously recorded work and provided a sneak preview of what’s to come in her new album. Read our review of the DVD here.
