The Magic Lantern have been busy writing and rehearsing in preparation for a busy year ahead and a new album. They also have a new band member, Ellie Rose Rusbrige joins them who some of you will know from Apple Of My Eye (see video below). They are also to have a Winter/Spring residency at the Green Note in London. They will be playing one gig a month there in February, March and April and will be joined by Shama Rahman, Sam Lee and a special project by Fred and Ellie of ‘Blake Songs’. The first gig is Thursday 16 February with Shama Rahman a fantastic singer/songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist who weaves stories, sitar and song seamlessly and combines influences from everywhere she has lived, visited, experienced and loved.
They are currently writing the rest of their second album album and are going into the studio in March to record a new single which will be released in the summer followed by a UK tour. In between they’ll be playing at the Roundhouse for the Camden Crawl and there are European rumours on the horizon!
