The highly talented English folk duo Hannah James & Sam Sweeney are due to release their second album State and Ancientry on 2nd April through Root Beat Records. Sam and Hannah were originally in Kerfuffle a well established band which provided them great exposure across the English folk circuit. Fortunately they formed as a duo following Kerfuffle’s split and they now balance their work alongside their many other projects, their debut album Catches and Glees was released in 2009. Sam (fiddle) currently plays in Bellowhead and Hannah (accordion, clogger) is part of the all girl trio Lady Maisery whose debut album Weave and Spin was released last year. She is also a champion clog dancer and part of the Demon Barber Road Show as well as being heavily involved with the development of their new theatre show Time Gentlemen Please.
The album will be launched at Cecil Sharp House on 15th Februrary where they will be joined by special guests. Tickets here
