Long time followers of Folk Radio UK will remember the Warsaw Village Band who were regulars in our playlists a few years ago. The good news is that they have an extensive UK and European Tour planned for 2012 (dates below).
Their music is both primitive and earthly but with an unrelenting driving force that is steeped in the roots of their Polish motherland from which they have re-vived many traditions. These include the traditionl instruments they play which are rarely heard today such as the suka, a fiddle used in Polish folk music, but which is stopped by the fingernails rather than fingers.
