This Sunday 27th November sees Kathryn Tickell performing at Cecil Sharp House, London. The performance is titled Northumbrian Voices. Anyone that has seen Kathryn perform live will know that she is a bottomless well for stories and anecdotes that have gone to make up her world. She was tutored on the small pipes from the age of nine by some of the best players of her time, many of whom were also shepherds. Now she gets the opportunity to share those tales and experiences. Kathryn will be joined by her father, Mike Tickell, as well as an ensemble of musicians and singers who will join her to make up three generations of musicians on stage together. The show promises to be a warm and wonderful insight into the roots of her music that have grown from the rural Northumbrian communities she still loves.
