In August 2010, French film maker Vincent Moon went to the Baltic island of Als where he met up with the Danish eight piece band, Efterklang. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations. Since it’s premier the film took on a life of its own and was viewed through truly independent means whereby the public were given the opportunity to host free screenings. We have no doubt that it will take on a cult status and is probably Vincent Moon’s best work to date.
The film has been finally released on DVD and is limited to 5000 individually numbered copies. The DVD comes with almost an hour extra material and the cover is very very special. Danish design studio Hvass&Hannibal has designed the artwork that features photography by Antje Taiga Jandrig. The cover is custommade and printed on recycled paper stock using vegetable based inks, by Stumptown Printers in Portland, Oregon.
