Akron/Family have released their second album under the new Family Tree Records collective project titled ‘Live Sound Fields’. Sound Fields is taken from Live shows 2009/2010 and gets the ++bmbz++ style treatment of their first release on FTR:
Each album is hand painted, hand numbered and totally unique. You can buy the at the FTR store here.
The band are excited about the launch of FTR and have a tour planned for the New Year to celebrate what will hopefully be a productive year ahead for the label. They will be joined by Bad Weather California.
Bad Weather California new album ‘Sunkissed’ is scheduled for release on FTR on Feb 21, 2012. The Family had this to say about the release:
We did all the groundwork recording the record in Detroit in Summer 2010. Taking a few breaks to coast around the empty streets of Detroit on old bike cruisers and stopping by a central Detroit smooth jazz fest here or there. This album is truly sunned out, and brings with it all the bliss, blur, and photosynthesis of its said inspiration. Full of beached out solar anthems, rock and roll from plastic ono to minutemen, killer songwriting, and forgotten roller rink soundtracks to your first kiss. These guys will be on the road with us in January. Please come check ’em out!
