Folk Radio UK favourite Wilful Missing are to have two of their songs featured on the BBC drama series Waterloo Road. This will be the second time they have had their music featured. The first led to a wave of internet discussion trying to discover who they were so they will no doubt be getting the same response all over again!
Back in May it was ‘DIY’, from our Vast Atlantic EP, that was used to end episode 2 of series 7. The positive response to the show surprised us all. The web seemed to come alive with questions, comments and blogs from people trying to establish who the music was by. We made a fair few new friends then, and we’re hoping to make a few more this time round too.
Wednesday’s episode (21st September at 7:30pm on BBC1) of Waterloo Road will feature both ‘Cry for the City‘ and ‘Constitution Failed‘; songs which haven’t previously been released. However, you can now download ‘Constitution Failed‘ from their website here.
Constitution Failed:
Cover over everything
Paper over cracks until it’s fine
Fine at least for nowTry your best to disappear
Convince yourself that we can see
See quite far enoughAs the poles retreat we face defeat head on
Kill the light parade the last exploding bomb
Feel the Fahrenheit, the last daylight
The constitution failed to be, somethingConfident yet paralysed
Terrify the president elect
Elected by a thiefTake a vow of honesty
Promise to eliminate the poor
But the poor are voiceless hereAs the poles retreat we face defeat head on
Kill the light parade the last exploding bomb
Feel the Fahrenheit, the last daylight
The constitution failed to be, somethingMore than I could hope to be
Drowning helpless in the sea
Carried by a rising tide
Need to remedy this life
In preparation for the song appearing in Waterloo Road, Media Moose have made a video for ‘Constitution Failed‘ which you can watch below:
New Album: Molehills out of Mountains
Both ‘Constitution Failed’ and ‘Cry For The City’ will be on their forthcoming album, Molehills out of Mountains. The album is set to be released before the end of 2011 and there will be more news about it soon.
They’re also hoping to make a music video for every song on the forthcoming album. Get in touch through their website if you have any ‘killer ideas’ or think you can help get in touch through their website!
