Beirut hit the NPR offices for a Tiny Desk Concert…after battling with 100 degree heat they soon got themselves sorted thanks to NPR hospitality before performing a great little gig at which they had only intended to play two tunes from their latest release The Rip Tide. They opened with “East Harlem,” then “Sante Fe”…and, as you can hear from the crowd claps, responded with an extra track: a traditonal tune “Serbian Cocek,” an arrangement by friend and fellow New Mexico musician Jeremy Barnes (Hawk and a Hacksaw).
Listen to The Rip Tide in full. Released on Pompeii (29 Aug 2011)
