TUSK Festival takes place in Newcastle upon Tyne from 7th – 9th October and boasts an unrivalled line-up of unclassifiable international music. Across 3 days and 2 of the city’s best loved venues, TUSK Festival features countless coups and firsts, including the blissful drowning sounds of Grouper, infamous hyp-pop illusionists Hype Williams, Alvarius B (Sun City Girls, Sublime Frequencies), ex-Harry Pussy guitar shredder Bill Orcutt, “most exciting drummer of his generation” Chris Corsano in a rare duo with Ultra Eczema’s Dennis Tyfus, dreamy French drone-pop duo Natural Snow Buildings, the transcendent free skronk of The Hunter Gracchus, Cath and Phil Tyler, Hiss Golden Messenger, LAFMS maverick and noise pioneer John Duncan, and the legendary Rhys Chatham performing his composition Guitar Trio with drums, bass and 9 guitarists.
DJ duties during the weekend will be taken care of by our special guests from Jazzfinger and Kraak. There is also the mysterious BOC, the most legendary power trio never to have played together before!
There’ll also be panel discussions and talks, and an astounding array of hard-to-find records and merchandise available.
